Our E-Books are now Kindle compatible!

Overdrive downloadable e-books and audiobooks

The North Haven Library has offered free e-book and audiobook downloads since we joined the LION library consortium in June.  The service was compatible with most e-readers, tablets, smart phones and pcs — but not with the Kindle.  We are happy to report that most e-books are now Kindle compatible.  Here is a quick guide to get you started:

  • Choose a Kindle Book from the LION OverDrive site
  • Select Kindle and add to cart/checkout.
  • Click the ‘Get for Kindle’ button. This opens the Amazon.com website.
  • Sign in with your Amazon.com account if you are not already logged in.
  • Select your Kindle device or Kindle reading app. Click the ‘Get library book’ button and sync your device or app to download the book.  If your Kindle does not have Wi-Fi,  download to your PC, plug Kindle into a USB port, and drag and drop the download to the Kindle folder.
  • Start reading!
